D' Zone Zonal Youth Festival inaugurated at GNDU

Amritsar, October 13, 2023 ( ) –The 'D' Zone Zonal Youth Festival of Guru Nanak Dev University was inaugurated here today in the Dasmesh Auditorium of Guru Nanak Dev University.
Prof. Preet Mohinder Singh Bedi, Dean, Student's Welfare formally inaugurated this festival by lighting the lamps. While addressing the students, He said that Youth festivals have long been a vibrant celebration of the inner creativity and boundless potential of our youth. These dynamic events serve as a platform for young individuals to express themselves through a myriad of artistic and cultural forms, igniting their passions and talents. Dr. Amandeep Singh, Incharge, Youth Welfare extended a warm welcome to the esteemed guests and students.
The festival started with the competition of General Dance. Student-artists from Kapurthala & Nawanshar are participating in the items of Music, Theatre, Dance, Literary & Fine Arts. This festival will be concluded on October 14. The competitions are being organized simultaneously on different stages in the University Campus i.e. Dashmesh Auditorium, Guru Nanak Bhawan, Architecture Department and Conference Hall.
Dr. Amandeep Singh, Incharge, Youth Welfare of the University said that the items of General Dance, Gidha, Western Vocal Solo, Western Instrumental Solo and Folk Orchestra were organized in the Dashmesh Auditorium. On the stage of Guru Nanak Bhawan, Classical Instrumental Percussion & Non-Percussion, Classical Vocal Solo, Vaar Singing and Kawishri were organized. On the Architecture Department stage, Painting on the Spot, Collage, Cartooning, Poster Making, Clay Modeling, On the Spot Photography and Installation were organized and the poetical Symposium, elocution and debate were held at Conference Hall of the University.
He said that on October 14, Costume Parade, Mime, Mimicry, Skit and One Act Play will be held in Dashmesh Auditorium and Group Shabad/Bhajan, Group Song Indian, Geet/Gazal, Folk Song competitions will be organized in the Guru Nanak Bhawan Auditorium. On the stage of Architecture Department, Rangoli, Phulkari, Mehndi and in the Conference hall, quiz competition will be organized. On this day prize distribution function will be organized in the Dashmesh Auditorium of the University.
